Trump Administration Focuses on Infrastructure

President Donald Trump talked about rebuilding America’s infrastructure during his first address to a joint session of Congress, touting his intention to erect “new roads, bridges, tunnels, airports and railways gleaming across our beautiful land.”

This comes as no surprise. Shortly after his upset victory over Hillary Clinton last November, Trump called for an injection of $1 trillion in spending on roads, tunnels, bridges, airports, and other infrastructure projects. All this talk of new infrastructure spending has perked the interest of Democrats like Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, who said he would like to work with President Trump on such an initiative, so long as it entails spending a large sum of taxpayer dollars and no tax relief.
